“I’ve had a varied career as a theatre director, editor, journalist, PR consultant, businessowner and educator. About 18 months ago I decided to change my work direction and use my experience to make a difference. This change had been brewing for some time and I realized I couldn’t make it by halves or I’d end up creeping back to the security of the work I knew. I had to make the leap without a parachute to explore potential new paths. With the support of the community I trialed new learning techniques and started building a new practice that helps not-for-profits become financially sustainable. Most of us here do take the road less travelled. It’s inspiring being with other people on the same road.”

“At the end of last year, I was walking in the park ruminating on ideas for a short course that would help students tap into their purpose more swiftly and profoundly. I came up with the “Is there a TED-style talk in you?” course. Within three days, I’d invited four expert facilitators to help co-create the program and now, just five months later, the course is on its third public round and we’ve won a contract to run it in-house with a department of the Victorian government. Slow School’s co-creation process and our ”learn by doing” approach are so incredibly powerful. They’re at the heart of what we do.”
